A wholesome, heartwarming adventure perfect for little explorers:
There are some days out that feel like a deep breath: slow, simple, and full of those tiny moments you want to bottle forever. Our visit to Frankly Farm Tours was exactly that. If you're looking for a gentle, budget-friendly family outing where toddlers can run free, squeal at animals, and soak up the countryside, this one is a gem.
🚗 Getting There: An Honest Heads-Up
Before I get into the magic, let me be real about the drive.
The lane leading up to the farm is narrow and bumpy, and not ideal for low-riding cars. If your car sits close to the ground, you might wince a little. But once you arrive, the stress melts away. Promise.
🐑 First Impressions: Pure Toddler Joy

The moment we stepped out of the car, our daughter was off like a shot. That full-body toddler excitement where they practically vibrate with joy? She had it in abundance. Watching her little legs run towards the animals was one of those parenting moments that just fills your chest.
The staff noticed her excitement too and were genuinely warm. They chatted with her, smiled at her reactions, and made us feel instantly welcome. It's the kind of friendliness you can't fake.
🥕 Feeding the Animals
One of the highlights was being able to feed most of the animals. Goats, sheep, and a few other furry friends were more than happy to come over for a snack. Our daughter was in her element, tiny hand outstretched, giggling every time a nose nudged her palm.
And then there was Jeffrey...
Frankly Farm's resident llama had clearly done this before. The moment he spotted us with feed, he stood tall, ears forward, and fixed us with the most expectant look you've ever seen on an animal. Absolutely no shame whatsoever. He knew exactly what he wanted and he wasn't shy about it.
When the feed ran out, Jeffrey wasn't convinced. He took it upon himself to inspect the buggy thoroughly, clearly convinced we were holding out on him. Our daughter thought he was absolutely hilarious. Honestly, so did we.
It was gentle, safe, and perfect for little ones who love animals but can get overwhelmed easily. Jeffrey, however, is never overwhelmed. Jeffrey is in charge.
🌾 A Peaceful Playtime
Towards the end of our visit, she discovered the little play area and it was such a sweet moment. She pottered around happily while we took a breather and soaked in the countryside. There's something about watching your child play outdoors, cheeks rosy, hair messy, that just feels grounding.
☕ A Bacon Bap Break (Because Parents Need Fuel Too)
Before doing one last loop of the farm, we treated ourselves to a bacon bap and a cuppa. Simple, warm, and exactly what you want after chasing a toddler around fields.
If you prefer, you can bring your own picnic. Another big win for families watching the pennies.
💷 Budget-Friendly and Family-Focused
One thing I really appreciated was how affordable the whole experience was. No pressure to spend extra, no hidden add-ons, just a wholesome day out that doesn't break the bank. With the option to bring your own food and plenty of space to enjoy it, it's a brilliant choice for families wanting a low-cost adventure.
🌟 Final Thoughts
Frankly Farm Tours has that lovely, down-to-earth charm that's getting harder to find. Friendly staff, hands-on animal experiences, and a calm, family-run feel make it a wonderful day out, especially for toddlers who adore animals and being outdoors.
We'll definitely be going back.
